Kevin - Little Lizard
Kevin,
You’ve got a lot more hair growing in the bald spot above your forehead, and all of your hair is turning auburn. Two days ago when changing your nappy, I put you on your belly to do up the buttons of your pyjamas, and for the first time you pushed your head and shoulders up well clear of the mattress and stared at the photos of New Zealand for several minutes without moving! You reminded me of a lovely little lizard, immobile in the sun. Your neck muscles are very strong now. Today I hung a rattle up next to your bouncy chair and you have been batting at it with your hands.

Kevin at 2 months
Darling Kevin,
I had lots of very smiley smiles from you this morning, so I tried to capture some with your Daddy’s camera, which takes better close-ups than mine. You are 2 months old today!
We’re suffering a heat wave. It’s been 30° C most days for the last 2 or 3 weeks, but today is the worst so far. At 9 am it was already 31°C on the balcony, so it can only get hotter this afternoon. I wanted to take you to the PMI (“Protection maternelle et infantile”) to be weighed, but daren’t take you outside. You’re wearing nothing but a nappy, and I sponged down your arms, legs, chest and back with some nice tepid water. Poor wee thing, you get too hot in my arms.
Your Daddy got very excited yesterday, when he realised how alert and attentive you have become in the last few days when we show you your toys, especially the rattley ones.
For three nights running you have slept from 11 pm to 6 or 7 am without a break – you little angel! It means I’ve been sleeping more too, of course.
